Each product is individually designed using a variety of solid, kiln-dried wood. These woods include: walnut, oak, cherry, maple, mahogany, elm, cedar, padauk (African), and purpleheart (South American). No stains or dyes are used, only the natural colors of the wood. Mineral oil is used on the cutting boards and trivets and is safe to cut on. Conversion varnish is applied to all other pieces to ensure a durable and moisture resistant finish. Cutting boards and trivets need to be reconditioned a few times a year, depending on use, you may need to apply mineral oil once a month. When the wood looks dry, after several weeks of use, it's time to apply more mineral oil: Make sure the board is clean, place a quarter sized drop of mineral oil onto the surface of the board, rub the oil into the wood grain (a circular motion works best), Let the board sit for 12-24 hours , re-apply a second coat, then let it sit for an additional 12-24 hours, wipe off any excess oil with a clean rag.
Each piece includes various forms of wood. Due to the handcrafted nature of this product, your piece may vary from the photo. Handmade in the USA.
